Someone prompted me to think of how I sift fake from truth.

First and foremost, I have a space of practice – I am an Impact Strategist and know how I wish to impact the world and what I believe are the right ways to do that. There are clearly personal biases – such as my political and social beliefs are inclined to the left. These beliefs originate in my experience, the outcomes I wish to see etc.

I am a reflective practitioner and maintain daily notes about how I think about these things.

When I come across something, an article, a post on Medium or a book – I revisit my own frameworks – I am open to revision, but I am also stoic – I constantly question and critique.

I have a system by which I maintain by evolving Body of Knowledge. Over time I have curated a list of trusted sources. I trust them because I trust the process by which they produce that knowledge. I do expect some insight into how they produce that knowledge. I for example, have long experience with how NPR or NYT produce their information and stories.

I also think it is my responsibility to debunk what is obviously incorrect. In that sense I see myself as part of the ecosystem that produces ‘truth’.
